William Murphy Prior to joining the Department of Industrial Relations Office of the Director – Anti-Fraud Unit, William Murphy was a prosecutor for 22 years. Mr. Murphy supervised the Insurance Fraud Unit at the Contra Costa County District attorney’s office for several years. He has investigated and prosecuted hundreds of claimant fraud, premium fraud and medical billing fraud cases. Mr. Murphy joined the AFU in May of 2021. He has made it a priority to improve and increase the ways in which the AFU can assist law enforcement.
