Ed Tavares L. Ed Tavares, has been in leadership roles in insurance Special Investigations (SIU), Intelligence and Technology for the past 24 years. Currently he is the Senior Insurance Fraud Advisor for the Global Fraud Solutions Division at TransUnion. Previously, he was the SIU Regional Manager for Latin America and the Senior Manager of Global Intelligence & Analytics for the Global Investigative Services unit at AIG. Prior to that he worked a n SIU Leader on both Claims and Point of Sale fraud initiatives as part of the SIU organization at Nationwide Insurance. Throughout his career he has been instrumental in developing a Fraud Risk Management Culture that bridges all aspects of the insurance organization, from Marketing, Underwriting, Claims, Legal, & Recovery.
Mr. Tavares holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice; Is a Certified Crime & Intelligence Analyst and holds a Fraud Claims Law Specialist designation. He has presented at several Anti-Fraud conferences (IASIU, IFM, etc.). He is also involved in various advisory boards for Claims and SIU and is currently the Executive Secretary for the Anti-Fraud Alliance. His career is focused on elevating Anti-Fraud Awareness, Fraud Intelligence, and Technology within the insurance industry.
