Christopher Maciel advises on complex commercial litigation and counseling involving insurance and health care fraud and RICO matters in federal and state courts across the country. Christopher handles litigation and matters involving a wide variety of patterns of systemic fraud, including billing for unnecessary medical services, billing for services not rendered, upcoding, unbundling, violating anti-kickback and patient brokering laws, and violating state licensure laws and prohibitions on the corporate practice of medicine. Christopher has successfully litigated a number of complex insurance fraud cases under California’s anti-fraud qui tam statute, the Insurance Frauds Prevention Act.
