Brandon Pekarek currently serves as the Patrol Administrative Sergeant overseeing numerous programs and day to day patrol operations as well as the Field Training Program Sergeant for the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office. Sgt. Pekarek has been employed with the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office for the past 18 years and has work a variety of assignments including Detectives, AGNET (Agriculture, Gangs, Narcotics Enforcement Team), Off Highway Vehicle Enforcement (OHV), Unmanned Arial Systems (UAS), Crisis Negotiations Team (CNT), Field Training Officer (FTO), and Custody Transportation Officer. For the past three years, Sgt. Pekarek has served on the executive board of directors for the California Rural Crime Prevention Task Force (CRCPTF) and is the current Vice President. He also serves on the governing board for Western States Livestock Rural Enforcement Association (WSLREA) and has an extensive knowledge and background in agriculture crimes. Sgt. Pekarek is married to his wife Nicole, who is a District Attorney Investigator for the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office and the current President of the California Rural Crime Prevention Task Force (CRCPTF). Together they organize and host the annual Rural Crime School which is the only school in the nation dedicated to law enforcement professionals that focuses on education and prevention of rural crime. Over the past twenty-five years, the school has successfully taught thousands of sworn and non-sworn professionals the importance of preventing rural crime in our communities.
