Blake Schnabel

    Blake Schnabel: Blake has been a Special Agent with the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) for three years and is assigned to the Northern California Team in the greater area surrounding San Joaquin, El Dorado, and Sacramento Counties. Currently Blake performs liaison duties with State Fund, all the respective District Attorney Offices, as well as the local CDI Investigative Office, California Highway Patrol (CHP) Offices, and the San Joaquin County Regional Delta Auto Theft Task Force in Stockton, CA.
    Prior to his position with NICB, Blake finished his 28-year career with the California Highway Patrol, with the last 22 years dedicated to auto theft and auto fraud investigations while assigned to multiple task forces. Blake retired from CHP in December 2022 at the rank of Sergeant.
    Blake served on the International Association of Chief’s of Police, Vehicle Crimes Committee from 2016-2022. Blake has also been an active board of director of the Western States Auto Theft Investigators Association from 2003-2026 in various roles within WSATI’s Northern Chapter, including Vice President from 2012-2103, President from 2014-2015, and currently holds the position of Past President.
    Blake is a native of California and earned his bachelor’s degree in criminology while attending both California State University of Fresno and California Polytechnic State university in San Luis Obispo.
